Sophisticated matte-ness

Recently I received a polish I had long been doubting about. The thing is, one day you'll just have to buy it, or the thought will keep haunting you.
I'm talking about Russian Navy Matte. I know that every polish can easily be mattified with a matte topcoat, and therefore there is no real sense in buying a matte polish. They apply like wallpaint after all. But somehow the Russian Nave matte always looked so posh to me. I really love the look of this almost-black velvety textured beauty!

And then I did some cooking, and it started chipping right away. That's another frustrating thing about mattes, they just won't last! So I decided to camouflage it up with a bit of stamping. I picked a Bundle Monster plate and my beloved China Glaze Millenium, and this is how it turned out:

This is taken under artificial light, which makes it look blacker. I absolutely love this! Too bad I'll probably have to take it all off tomorrow!

So glam!

It has been on my wishlist for ages: the amazing OPI DS Glamour. But I could never find it for a reasonable price (at least, not with shipping and all). Recently though, an opportunity came along, and I grabbed it. I could pick her up from the post office this afternoon. I had lunch with my friend Do after that, and while she was standing in line to get MOAR noccicino (that's coffee with nuts and cocoa and stuff) I couldn't resist the urge, I HAD to put it on!
Fortunately I was wearing a dark blue already, and it was a perfect match! I present you, OPI DS Glamour over Catrice Hip Queens Wear Blue Jeans!
note: my ring finger nail looks fat because I first-aided it with glue and wraps

Black Magic!

Well... it's not black and IMO it's not magic... but it's a cool polish anyway! Here's OPI's Black Magic Mountain which I won in Deborah's giveaway a while ago!

Without flash:
It's a wine red shimmer polish, an old black label OPI loaded with chemicals that make your nostrils ache. Application is easy with these buggers. Drying time was OK... not too long, but not quick either. I used three coats and topped it off with Poshe.

I like it, but I do not loooove it. It's not quite... unique enough? Still, I liked the high that the chemicals gave me. Old polish FTW!!

BANANANANANAS

Ok, this sounds like I'm a huge bananoholic. Which is not entirely true. I mostly enjoy chemical banana flavors. Sue me.
Anyway, I saw Deborah's quick swatches of the new H&M polishes and naturally I had to run to H&M the next day to get them. That's the downside of working downtown, like 1 block from the shopping centre. Danger lures way too close. Although I was most enthusiastic about Hunt Me Down (since it's a drekkie), I tried Going Bananas first. Going Bananas is a pastel yellow with a slight hint of green shimmer in it. The green does not show on pictures, unfortunately. I used three coats and like all pastel yellows, it's not easy to master. I topped it off with Poshe, which is like my best friend in the whole universe.

Spring! Come! Now! Plz!
As soon as winter fades and I still have some daylight left when I come home from work every day, my picture color accuracy will improve. Just you wait.
